Photos and write up for each entrant are coming..  Each entry will be uploaded to both our facebook pages – Gold Coast Power Boat & Sports Club and Lockyer Powerfest page and then here.  If you don’t want to scroll down the posts on facebook to see the writeup of each entry, then please view this page or the “notes” tab on both of our facebook pages.  All entries will be sorted into classes at a later stage.  The most recent entries are at the top of the list.

6 Litre – Workhorse – Alan & Michael Newton

Our next entrant for the East Coast Cup (6 Litre) is Workhorse, driven by Alan and Michael Newton from Lake Macquarie, Newcastle (NSW). Alan and Michael are sharing the driving of a brand new 17 foot 6 inch, centre cell from Race and Ski Marine, Bruce Everingham. This boat has come out of the box, with some serious speed and in its first major outing it placed in a red hot field. Alan and Michael return to Lockyer Powerfest after a few years absence and are looking forward to driving on the triangle course, which Alan has experienced in his many years of driving. 105MPH – Friction – Philip Hitchcock

Our next entrant in the 105MPH class is Friction, driven by Philip Hitchcock from Narromine (NSW).  We welcome the Friction team to Laidley for the first time.  Friction has been a regular participant in the 105MPH class at other major race meetings and recently placed at the Dargle spectacular.  Philip is looking forward to driving on the triangular track and sure to be at the front end of the 105MPH.  Good luck Philip!  Photo credit:  PureArt Creative Images.

105MPH – Nutcase – Clint Davies

Our next entrant in the 105MPH class is Nutcase, driven by Clint Davies from Narromine (NSW).  Clint appears at Lockyer Powerfest for the first time, but has been a regular runner at other QLD major races in the past.  Nutcase will be racing in the 105MPH and the boats that have entered at here are all very close in speed.  This class is sure to be one of the most competitive over the weekend.  Good luck Clint!  Photo credit:  PureArt Creative Images.

6 Litre – Joe Jnr – Andrew Walmsley

Our next entrant in the 6 Litre class is Joe Jnr, driven by Andrew Walmsley from Newcastle (NSW).  Andrew will be making his first appearance at Laidley.  Andrew is a seasoned competitor on the Australian circuit and has one and placed in many Australian major trophy races.  He has come to Lockyer Powerfest this year to take out the East Coast Cup and be a strong contender in the Iron Nuts Shield, Queensland Cup and a possible finalist in the QN Hotel Australian Open.  Good luck Andrew!  Photo credit:  PureArt Creative Images.

Unlimited Displacement – Airborne – Alf Ebborn

Our next extrant in the Unlimited Displacement class is Airborne, driven by Alf Ebborn from Cominya (QLD).  Alf returns to Laidley after a couple of years absence and is looking forward to his first experience of the triangular course. This boat will be super quick and if Alf can master the turns he is sure to be a serious threat for the Iron Nuts Shield, Queensland Cup and QN Hotel Australian Open.  Good luck Alf!  Photo Credit:  PureArt Creative Images.

Formula 2 – KD Motorsport 95 – Corey Davoll

Our next entrant in the Formula 2 class is KD Motorsport 95, driven by Corey Davoll from Wilberforce (NSW). Corey regularly competes in the AFPGP series and is currently ranked 1st in the Formula 2 class. Corey is competing at Lockyer Powerfest for the first time. Along with running the Formula 2 class, he will be looking to qualify in the final for the Queensland Cup and possibly a position in the QN Hotel Australian Open. Good luck Corey! Blown Lites – Decision – Brent Lewis QLD

Our next entrant in the Blown Lites class is Decision. Brent Lewis is from the Lockyer Valley and has previously won the Queensland Cup in 2012.  After a troublesome run at last year’s Lockyer Powerfest, the Decision team will be looking for a huge effort and a much improved result.  With a new engine on board this year, this team will be at the pointy of the field and will be looking for victories in the Iron Nuts Shield, Queensland Cup and QN Hotel Australian Open.  Good luck Brent!  Photo credit: PureArt Creative Images.

Unlimited Outboard – RDM Racing – Greg Banks NSW

Another entrant in the Unlimited Outboard class is RDM Racing, driven by Greg Banks from Penrith (NSW).  Unfortunately last year the crowd at Lockyer Powerfest didn’t get to see the full potential of this boat.  Last year Greg posted the fastest time of the weekend and with some improvements to this year’s package, he is sure to go even quicker!  We are putting up Greg as the favourite to take out the Queensland Cup and QN Hotel Australian Open. Our next entrant in the 6 Litre class is Karma, driven by Bevan Partridge.  Bevan is from Forestdale, Brisbane (QLD) and returns to Lockyer Powerfest for his 3rd visit.  Bevan has recently found some more speed in his boat and he will be looking for a placing in the East Coast Cup this year and a possible finals appearance in the Queensland Cup, Iron Nuts Shield and QN Australian Open.  Good luck Bevan!  Photo credit:  PureArt Creative Images.

4.2 Litre – Raider – Jim Beatie VIC

Our next entrant in the 4.2 Litre class is Raider, driven by Jim Beatie from Longwarry (VIC).  We welcome back Jim for his 5th visit to Lockyer Powerfest.  Raider is one of only a few boats that have supported our event every year!  Jim is the current President of the OZ Boat 4.2 Litre class series and with Jim’s support, the GCPBSC have created a major trophy on the Australian OZ boat 4.2 Litre circuit.  This year’s 4.2 Litre competitors will be competing for the Production Cup.  Good luck Jim!  Photo credit:  PureArt Creative Images.

Blown Lites – Immortal – Mark Gauci VIC

Our next entrant in the Blown Lites class is Immortal.  Mark Gauci is from Epping (VIC) and is the current Australian Blown Lites champion.  The Immortal boat has won some serious major trophies in Australia in the last 12 months, including the Iron Nuts Shield at Lockyer Powerfest last year.  Mark has set his goal this year even higher and he is here to take out the Queensland Cup and the inaugural QN Hotel Australian Open.  Good luck Mark!  Photo credit:  PureArt Creative Images.

4.2 Litre – Cauz’n Mayhem – Scott Patterson VIC

Our next entrant for Lockyer Powerfest is Harmony in the 4.2 Litre class, driven by Wes Owen.  Wes is from Ferntree Gully, Melbourne (VIC) and is competing for the second time at Laidley.  Wes will be wanting to push the Harmony boat to the pointy end of the field, with one of our largest classes for the weekend. Our next entrant in the 6 Litre class is Mac N Speed, driven by Lindsay MacMillan from the Gold Coast (QLD). The Mac N Speed boat is currently in exceptional form, after cleaning up at the Dargle Spectacular weekend recently.  Lindsay is a previous major trophy winner at Lockyer Powerfest.  Once again this year he will be one of the strong favourites for all the major trophies he goes in.  This is the boat to watch out for over the weekend.  Good luck Lindsay! Formula 4 – BRP Racing – Briney Rigby NSW

We welcome back this year Briney Rigby driving, BRP Racing.  Briney has recently returned from the world circuit, where she won a round of the World Series.  She is from Lower Portland (NSW) and is a seasoned professional at the young age of 16.  She is competing at Lockyer Powerfest in her Formula 4 boat, which will be out of class with her other competitors, but her skill and race craft, will keep the others well and truly honest.  We thank Briney for coming up and supporting our event. 4.2 Litre – Crisis – Steve Wassenaar QLD

Our first entrant in the 4.2 Litre class is Steve Wassenaar driving Crisis.  Steve is from Moorooka, Brisbane (QLD) and is racing for the first time at Laidley.  Steve’s boat was a former championship winning boat and he has refitted it out and is set to debut at Lockyer Powerfest.  We wish Steve and his crew all the best for their first Lockyer Powerfest meeting!  Good luck Steve!  Photo is courtesy of Steve Wassenaar.

Formula 2 – Precision Marine – Jason Heaney VIC

Our first entrant in the Formula 2 class is Precision Marine, driven by Jason Heaney from Hamilton (VIC).  Jason is a regular AFPGP series and will compete in Grafton the weekend before Lockyer Powerfest.  Jason is currently ranked third in the Formula Optimax class of the AFPGP series.  This will be Jason’s second visit to Lockyer Powerfest and after taking a 2nd in the Unlimited Outboard class last year, we are sure Jason has his sights on first place in his class!  Good luck Jason!  Photo credit:  PureArt Creative Images.

Formula Future/Juniors – Warrior – Kirra-Lee Eglington QLD

Our next entrant in the Formula Future class is Kirra-Lee Eglington driving Warrior.  Kirra is from Bundaberg and is competing for the first time at Lockyer Powerfes.  She has been racing the past 6 months at Bundaberg and is excited to compete in her first major race meet at Lake Dyer.  We are sure over the weekend Kirra is bound to have heaps of fun and gain some experience against the big field of juniors.  Good luck Kirra!  Photo credit:  Shot by Desley

Formula Future/Juniors – Bushranger – Beau Brown QLD

Our next entrant in the Formula Future class is Beau Brown driving Bushranger.  Beau is from Gladstone and is competing for the second time at Lockyer Powerfest, with his very first race almost a year ago at Lake Dyer.  Beau has been racing this past year at Bundaberg and Port Macquarie and he is following in his big brother’s footsteps by being a consistent achiever.  Good luck Beau!  Photo credit:  Shot by Desley.

Unlimited Outboard- Anglomoil – Craig Truslove QLD

Our next entrant in the Unlimited Outboard class is Craig Truslove driving Anglomoil.  Craig is from the Gold Coast (QLD) and was the recent inaugural winner of the Hawkesbury Double Dash and a former winner of the Bridge to Bridge.  This will be Craig’s first visit to Laidley and he will be one of the serious contenders for our major trophies of the QN Hotel Australian Open and Exchange Hotel Queensland Cup.  Good luck Craig.  Photo credit:  PureArt Creative Images.

Unlimited Outboard- McKenzie Racing – Damien McKenzie QLD

Our first entrant in the Unlimited Outboard class is McKenzie Racing, driven by Damien McKenzie from the Gold Coast (QLD).  Damien was the inaugural winner of the Queensland Cup in 2011 and returns to Laidley after a few years absence.  With our triangle track at Lake Dyer, this is sure to showcase his incredible speeds around the corners and will make McKenzie Racing one of the favourites for the Queensland Cup and QN Hotel Australian Open. Our first entrant in the 6 Litre Displacement class is Image.  Craig Lewis is a Lockyer Valley local (Hatton Vale) and this year will be looking to take out the East Coast Cup for 6 litres and also have a strong showing in the Irons Nuts Shield, Queensland Cup and hopefully an appearance in the QN Hotel Australian Open.  Craig is the current commodore of Gold Coast Power Boat & Sports Club (GCPBSC) and one of the organisers of Lockyer Powerfest.  He would like to welcome all the competitors, exhibitors, spectators to this year’s 5th running of Lockyer Powerfest and hopes that all enjoy the extra entertainment this year!  Good luck Craig!  Photo credit: PureArt Creative Images.

Blown Lites – Bad Intent – Rod Mackay QLD

Our first entrant in the Blown Lites and Unlimited class is Bad Intent, driven by Rod Mackay from Beerwah on the Sunshine Coast (QLD). After a solid performance last year, with a 2nd placing overall in the Blown Lites series, Rod will be looking for a serious hit out at Lockyer Powerfest before the next Blown Lites series begins.  The Bad Intent team will be hoping for a victory in the Blown Lites Challenge, Queensland Cup, Iron Nuts Shield and QN Hotel Australian Open.  Good luck Rod!  Photo credit:  All The Torque Photography.

105 MPH – Ultra – Chris Deehan NSW

Formula Future/Juniors – Giddy Up – Shelbee Sonter QLD

Our first entrant in the Formula Future class is Shelbee Sonter driving Giddy Up.  Shelbee is from Bundaberg (originally from Emerald) and is currently studying/boarding in Rockhampton (QLD). She is currently running 2nd in the J2 class of the AFPGP series and in 2014, she came 1st in the AFPGP Championships.  At the Formula Future J2 Australian Titles in 2014, Shelbee placed 1st and at only 12 years old, has already has a large number of races under her belt.  Good luck Shelbee!  Photo credit:  Shots by Desley.
